Like many people, my first experience with crystals wasn’t deeply spiritual or calculated. It was purely aesthetic. I found a piece of raw Amethyst at a local market, loved the deep violet color, and bought it to put on my desk.

I didn’t know anything about intention-setting, Vastu placement, or crystal charging. It was just a beautiful object. But over the next few months, I noticed something strange: I kept moving it. I’d move it to the window when I was working. I’d move it to the bookshelf when I wasn’t. It felt like the stone was demanding to be placed somewhere specific, even if I didn’t consciously understand why.

The Turning Point

That subtle shift — from seeing a crystal as a decoration to seeing it as something that interacts with a space — was the beginning. I started reading. I learned about the traditional associations of Pyrite for wealth, Selenite for cleansing, and Clear Quartz for clarity. I learned about the intersection of these traditions with Vastu Shastra.

But as my interest grew, so did my frustration. When I tried to buy more pieces, I found an industry that felt very disjointed. On one side, there were highly commercialized “new age” shops that felt overwhelming and sometimes inauthentic. On the other, there were high-end decor stores selling crystals at astronomical markups simply because they were mounted on a brass stand.

Building Elegreence

I started Elegreence because I wanted a middle ground. I wanted a place where you could buy a beautiful, high-quality Pyrite Ganesha or a Selenite plate without feeling like you were navigating a confusing marketplace.
